BR gymnasts compete

The Bright Raven Gymnastics girls and boys teams competed the weekend of January 18-19.  The girls traveled to Utica to compete in the Leatherstocking Invitational which was held at the Mohawk Valley Community College while the boys stayed closer to home to compete in the Upstate Local Meet held in Henrietta.

In Utica, the Bright Raven Level 5 team took first place with Emily Field of Greece taking first place all around (38.425) and Elizabeth Ferrari of Spencerport placing second (35.75) in the 12-year-old division.  In the 11 and under age division, Emma Taylor of Spencerport placed second (36.20) and Sydney Sack of Spencerport was third (35.65).  Megan Zaharkin of Spencerport earned second all around (36.70) in the 13 and over age division.

The Level 3 team also earned first place with Bright Raven gymnasts sweeping the top three all around spots in the 11 and over age group.  McKenna Kiesel of Chili took first place all around (38.225).  Addison Glozer of Spencerport took second place (37.825) and Jessica Pelkey of Caledonia placed third (37.80).  Katrina Daly of Spencerport earned second place (36.225) in the 9-year-old division and Camryn Trybuskiewicz of Chili was second in the 8 and under age group (37.25).

Two of the Bright Raven teams earned second place.  The Level 6 team was second with Hannah Cubiotti of Spencerport placing second all around (36.175).  The Level 7 team was also second with Keilei Latragna of Hilton earning first all around (36.825) and Julianna Gatto of Gates placing second (36.525) in the 13 and over age group.

Two Bright Raven teams finished in third place.  The Level 8 team was third with Taylor Pohleven of Spencerport taking first all around in the 14 and over age division (36.075).  The Level 4 team also finished third with Yasmeen Shabazz of Albion earning first all around in the 12 and over age division (37.10).  Madison Conn of Chili earned the third highest all around score (35.225) in the Level 9 Junior competition.

At the boys meet in Henrietta, Jake Scherbyn of Gates finished first all around (61.00) in the Level 6 competition for ages 9-10.  In the Level 6 competition for ages 11 and older, Brian Cannon of Chili was first all around (60.70) and Jesse Underwood of Greece placed second (54.20).  In the Level 4 competition, Dylan DelConte of Chili was second (55.70) in the 11 and older age group.  Josh Sokolowski of Greece competed Level 9 and earned the second highest all around score (64.90).
