Spencerport grad competes in March 22 Roller Derby
Spencerport Class of 1990 graduate Sue (Kinney) Dozoretz now residing in Ithaca, will skate locally as the Ithaca Sufferjets take on Rochester’s RocStars roller derby team on March 22 at the Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex, 2700 Brighton-Henrietta Townline Road (on MCC campus), Rochester.
Sue, #7-11, formerly known as Cam-Arrow, now known as Sue Fresh, is starting her 7th season skating for the Ithaca Sufferjets (currently ranked 82, nationally, out of 181 teams). Not only has she been chosen as team captain for many years, she has also been selected to compete on the All-Star team. In addition, in 2013 Sue Fresh tried out for the Team USA. Although she wasn’t selected for the final team, she succeeded in making it through three try outs. With this highlight of her derby career, she had the opportunity to skate with top skaters from all around the country.
Doors open at 5 for the March 22 roller derby. Bouting starts at 6 p.m. General seating $10, kids general seating $5. The derby is a double header with Rochester’s B-Sides vs. Ithaca Bluestockings at 6 p.m., followed by RocStars vs. Ithaca Sufferjets.
