6th annual Clarkson Classic 5K and Neighborhood Contest set for August 23

The 6th Annual Clarkson Classic 5K Run/Walk to benefit the Clarkson Historical Society will be held on Saturday, August 23. The race starts promptly at 9 a.m., at Hafner Park, Lake Road North in Clarkson (1/4 mile north of Route 104 on Route 19). The flat USATF certified course winds through residential neighborhoods. The race has become a great community event and loads of fun, according to organizers. New this year is a Neighborhood Spirit Contest. The race participants will be voting on which neighborhood came out to show the most support. The winning neighborhood will have bragging rights with two congratulatory signs strategically placed for two weeks. Also, the popular Kids 1/2 Mile Fun Run for children under 10 will take place after the race. All participants will get a racing bib and will be awarded a ribbon at the finish line. The race has created great friendly camaraderie in the community.
