Spencerport native Brandon Mills inducted into Golden Eagle Hall

Spencerport High School graduate Brandon Mills was among nine inductees as part of the 31st class into the College at Brockport Golden Eagle Athletic Hall of Fame in ceremonies held October 3.

Mills played with the men’s basketball team from 2000-2004 and helped them to three NCAA tournament bids which included a run to the “Elite 8” in his sophomore year and two “Sweet 16’s”.

“It’s a great feeling and especially great being inducted in the same class with my teammate, Mike Medbury,” Mills said after the ceremony. “We couldn’t bring a national title here, but we had some really good teams and brought some pride to the school.”

The power forward was a three-time All-SUNYAC selection – First Team as a senior – and was part of the school record 28-win season in 2001-02.

Mills finished his collegiate career ranked fifth all-time at the school in scoring and still holds the record for most games played (119) and career free throw attempts (569) while ranked among the top-ten in several other career categories.

He now works for the National School Boards Association as a technical system administrator based in Virginia.
