LeBron James named Hickok Belt® Award Winner for June
Cleveland Cavaliers forward, LeBron James, has been named the Hickok Belt® Award winner for the month of June 2016. A select panel of members of the National Sports Media Association (NSMA) conducted the voting.
The voters selected James based on his outstanding performance in the NBA Finals in which he led the Cleveland Cavaliers to the team’s first NBA title in franchise history. James, playing in his sixth straight NBA Finals, was named the 2016 NBA Finals MVP, averaging 29.7 points, 11.3 rebounds, 8.9 assists, 2.6 steals and 2.3 blocks per game.
His selection as the Hickok Belt® Award winner for the month of June 2016 recognizes LeBron James as “the best of the best” in professional sports for the month and makes him the sixth candidate eligible to receive the overall Hickok Belt® Award for 2016, joining Clayton Kershaw, Jake Arrieta, Novak Djokovic, Steph Curry and Jason Day.
