Benson, Nau, Enser lead Cadets, Rangers to rare tie
Spencerport’s 400-freestyle relay team of Ian Gillis, Zachary Nau, Colin Schultz and Nolan Benson touched less than one-half second ahead of Hilton in the final event to complete a late Rangers comeback as Hilton and the Rangers tied 88-88 in boy’s swimming.
Benson and Nau each had two individual firsts and two relay team firsts for the Rangers. Benson won the 200-freestyle in 1:55.95 and the 100-freestyle in :49.82 while Nau touched first in the 50-freestyle in :23.47 and the 100-backstroke in 1:01.95.
In addition to the 400-relay, both were part of the winning meet-opening 200-medley relay with Gillis and Schultz in 1:46.50.
Andrew Cole was the other individual winner for the Rangers taking the 100-breaststroke in 1:07.16.
Hilton’s Jared Enser won both the 200-individual medley and the 500-freestyle in 2:10.71 and 5:13.02 respectively.
Cadet Gianluca Antonini won diving with 109.95 points and the team of Alexander Morreale, Thomas Podgers, Alex Gargano and Payton Labue took the 200-freestyle in 1:37.40.
