Shipley, Lewis pace Saints

Churchville-Chili exploded for 21 third quarter points to break open their 64-46 boys basketball victory over Greece Arcadia.
Junior Kyle McCane opened the contest with a pair of treys on consecutive trips and a jumper shortly afterward to stake the Saints to an early 8-2 lead.

Tyreke Mims scored seven of his game total of ten points in the second quarter to help C-C run out to a 13-point halftime advantage.

After the Saints got early second half field goals from Cam Shipley and Anthony Lewis to go up by 17 points, Arcadia went on a 12-8 run to pull back to within 13 points.

But a three-pointer from Mims, lay-ups by Shipley and Isaiah Lewis and a jumper from McCane to end the third quarter finished the threat.

Myles Forsett added his first varsity points from the free-throw line late in the final quarter.

Shipley finished with a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds plus added four blocks in his first game back after missing six games with an ankle injury. Anthony Lewis had 12 points with nine rebounds, eight assists and five steals, McCane finished with 15 points and Mims had ten points for the 8-4 Saints.

“We used a 2-2-1 to slow down their offense,” said Churchville-Chili head coach Tim Miller. “When we play to that level of intensity, we can beat anybody. Arcadia came in here with just four losses, so this was a solid effort.”

The Saints finish the regular season with home games against Penfield (2/5) and Greece Athena (2/7-senior night) before a game at Spencerport (2/12).
