Bright Raven gymnasts win Upstate Championships

The Bright Raven Level 2, 3, and 4 teams finished the season on a fine note, competing in the USA Gymnastics Upstate New York Championships held in Rochester May 13 through15. The Level 3 team captured first place and many champions were named by taking first place in their respective divisions in individual events and all around competition.

With 27 teams represented, Bright Raven’s Level 3 team brought home the first place team banner. Seven-year-old Isabella Grinishin of Spencerport took first place all around and first in two events – vault and balance beam – in the Child B division. Cora DiDonno, age 8, of Honeoye Falls earned first place in the all around competition and floor exercise in the Child C division. In the Child A division, Taylor Suess of Chili took first on the uneven parallel bars and Alexis Harewood of Rochester was first in floor exercise. Eight-year-old Eden Scott of Greece won balance beam and floor exercise in the Jr. A division. Adriana Bushman of Victor took first on the uneven bars and balance beam in the Jr. B division and Ellie McCarthy of Victor was first on vault in the Jr. D division. Ten-year-old Zoie Phillips of Chili earned first place on vault in the Sr. A division. Sophia Wendt of Greece and Clara Allen of Farmington tied for first on vault in the Sr. C division.

Nine-year-old Jayliena Clark of Spencerport took first place all around in the Level 4 Jr. C division.

Seven-year-old Ava Nowak of Spencerport took first place in vault, balance beam, and all around in the Jr. A division.
