Spencerport Budget and Hilton Electric Bus Proposition Rejected by Voters

BROCKPORT:
Voters passed the district’s 2026-27 budget of $108,501,813 by a vote of 697 to 467. With 584 votes, Matthew Hennard was elected to a five-year term on the Board of Education. Terry Ann Carbone and Joann Lentz earned 432 and 82 votes, respectively.

CHURCHVILLE-CHILI:
Proposition 1, the 2026-27 Budget of $113,367,702, was approved by the community, with 543 voting in favor and 285 opposed. Proposition 2, to authorize the purchase of eight diesel school buses, was approved by a vote of 553 to 275. Proposition 3, to authorize the establishment of a Capital Reserve Fund, was approved by a vote of 528 to 299. Candidates Amy Wilson, Kevin Johnson, and Michelle Aloi were elected to the Board of Education, effective July 1, 2026. They received 649, 647, and 642 votes, respectively.

GATES CHILI:
District voters approved the proposed budget for the 2026-27 school year by a vote of 585 to 247, and Proposition 2 for bus purchase by a vote of 588 to 243. Four people were elected to the Board of Education: Michelle Jennings, Kathryn David, and Adam Reinhardt each earned three-year terms, while Angela Stour earned a one-year term.

HILTON:
Hilton voters approved Proposition 1, the district’s 2026-27 budget, by a vote of 851 to 492, and Proposition 2, for gas and diesel bus purchase, by a vote of 933 to 417. Proposition 3, regarding the purchase of electric buses, failed, with 491 voting in favor and 860 opposed. Samantha Fowler and Kristine Price were elected to the Board of Education with 895 and 793 votes, respectively. Candidate Lynda Donovan earned 624 votes.

HOLLEY:
Residents approved the proposed $32,687,000 school budget for the 2026-27 school year by a vote of 253 to 191. In addition, voters approved the proposition to purchase buses for replacement purposes by a vote of 256 to 186, the proposition for the Holley Community Free Library tax levy by a vote of 288 to 154, the proposition to purchase vacant property adjacent to Woodlands by a vote of 229 to 210, and the proposition to establish a Capital Improvements Reserve Fund 2026 by a vote of 253 to 180. Three candidates were elected to the Board of Education. Janet Klossner (282 votes) and Eric DiLella (279 votes) were each elected to a three-year term on the Board of Education, while Cecelia Pacheco Stevens (234 votes) was elected to a one-year term.

KENDALL:
Proposition 1, the district’s 2026-27 budget of $23,469,328, was approved by a vote of 155 to 79. Voters also approved Proposition 2, regarding vehicle capital reserve fund usage, by a vote of 152 to 67. With 163 votes, Christa Bowling was elected to a five-year term on the Board of Education, defeating incumbent David Warren (58 votes).

SPENCERPORT:
Voters narrowly defeated the district’s proposed 2026-27 budget by a 53-vote margin, with 745 voting in favor and 798 opposed. The district must now determine next steps, which could involve adopting a contingency budget or holding a revote in June. Information will be forthcoming once a decision is made. Proposition 2, authorizing the purchase of student laptops, passed by a vote of 920 to 621. Three candidates were elected to the Board of Education: Mark McLean with 1,236 votes, Sean McCabe with 1,165 votes, and David Gibbardo with 1,084 votes.
