Greece CSD Budget, Proposition Approved

By a vote of 1,540 in favor to 792 against, Greece Central School District voters approved a $335,430,909 spending plan for the 2026-27 school year. The budget remains within the state’s tax levy limit for the 16th consecutive year and has an estimated tax levy of $2,918,298.

“The budget approved tonight reflects our commitment to focus on what matters,” said Superintendent Jeremy Smalline. “We’re grateful to the voters and thank the entire community for their support of Greece schools.”

By a vote of 1,559 in favor and 776 against, voters approveda bus purchase proposition that authorizes the district to purchase up to 35 replacement gas/diesel buses at a cost not to exceed $5,904,418. Of that amount, $2,705,000 will come from the district’s previously established bus purchase reserve fund. The remaining cost will be financed over five years with debt service to begin in 2026-27 with no additional cost to residents.

In a four-way race for three seats on the Board of Education, voters selected Todd Butler (1,693 votes), Nichole Siwicki (1,656 votes), and Jenne LaPlaca (1,556 votes). The candidate not elected was William Maloney (1,350 votes).

The newly elected Board of Education members will serve three-year terms beginning on July 1, 2025.
