Brockport Kiwanis Celebrates 100 Years

Invites the Community to Help Shape the Next 100
The Brockport Kiwanis Club reached a remarkable milestone this year, celebrating its 100th anniversary with a gala that honored a century of service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to children and the Brockport community. Held at Deerfield Country Club on Saturday, April 25, 2026, the evening brought together generations of Kiwanians, community partners, and supporters for a night filled with pride, gratitude, and inspiration. More than a look back, the celebration was a powerful reminder that Brockport Kiwanis continues to make a difference—and that the community is invited to be part of what comes next.
Founded in 1926, the Brockport Kiwanis Club emerged during a period of national optimism and civic growth. Over the past century, the club has become a cornerstone of community life, championing youth programs, supporting local families, and investing in initiatives that strengthen the social fabric of the region. The 100th Anniversary Gala served not only as a celebration of the past but also as a recommitment to the future.
The event opened with a reception that blended elegance with the familiar warmth of Brockport hospitality. Executive Sponsor Tall Pines Roofing and Silver Sponsor Priority Concrete Coatings were showcased throughout the evening, adding to the celebratory atmosphere with displays, giveaways, and sweet treats. Tables of generous donations filled the lounge for a silent auction, where community generosity was on full display as guests helped raise more than $2,500 to support future Kiwanis initiatives.
As dinner began, the room filled with the hum of conversation—old friends reconnecting, new members meeting former leaders, and guests sharing stories of how Kiwanis programs touched their lives. The atmosphere reflected the essence of Kiwanis itself: community built through relationships, service, and shared purpose.
The program opened with remarks from current club president Jeff Fisher and event organizer Karen Kinter, who reflected on the organization’s century-long journey. The gala itself was made possible through the hard work and dedication of the Gala Committee, chaired by Karen Kinter, alongside committee members Jeff Fisher, Randy Dumas, Pete Head, Nicole Kulzer, Linda Manear, Dan Perry, and Nick Pisano. From early efforts supporting local children’s health initiatives to today’s partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and youth organizations, the club’s mission has remained constant: improving the world one child and one community at a time. The audience responded with enthusiastic applause, and graduating seniors from SUNY Brockport Circle K and Brockport High School Key Club were recognized as the next generation of service-minded leaders.
A highlight of the evening was the recognition of individuals whose dedication has shaped the club’s identity. Past presidents, longtime volunteers, and community partners were recognized for their leadership and generosity. Appreciation was also extended to the event’s sponsors, whose support helped make the centennial celebration possible.
As the evening continued, guests enjoyed music, conversation, and a sense of shared pride. Yacht Club Rock Band brought hours of lively dancing and celebration, while guests enjoyed a dessert buffet from Brockport’s own local favorite, Grinds Cafe.
As the gala concluded, a forward-looking message resonated throughout the room: while the centennial is a time to celebrate, it is also a call to action. Brockport Kiwanis is always looking for community members who want to make a meaningful difference—whether by becoming a member, volunteering time and talent, or supporting the club’s work through donations that directly benefit the Brockport community. Those interested in becoming a member are invited to contact President Jeff Fisher at brockport.kiwanis.foundation@gmail.com.
The Brockport Kiwanis 100th Anniversary Gala was more than a celebration—it was a vivid reminder of what is possible when neighbors come together in service. It honored the people who built the club, celebrated the lives it continues to touch, and set the stage for the next hundred years of impact. If this mission speaks to you, now is the perfect time to get involved. Community members are invited to become part of Brockport Kiwanis and help give back to Brockport in lasting ways.
