After a postponement due to inclement weather, the Ying-Freer Duo, comprised of Grammy Award-winning cellist David Ying and his wife, internationally acclaimed pianist Elinor Freer, will appear at The College at Brockport on Thursday, March 12, at 7:30 p.m. The concert, featuring a program entitled “di•vers•it•y,” will take place at the Tower Fine Arts Center, 180 Holley Street, Brockport. Tickets are $17 general, $12 for senior citizens, Brockport alumni, faculty and staff, and $9 for students, and are available online at http://fineartstix.brockport.edu, by phone at 395-2787, or in person at the Tower Box Office.

Concertgoers holding tickets for the original date, February 7, will be able to use the tickets they have on hand.

Featuring works by Romantic, modern, and 21st century composers, the duo will cover a diversity of musical eras and themes. The audience will hear works by Brahms, Prokofiev, Piazzolla, and others. Chinese native Chen Yi’s “Romance of Hsiao and Ch’in” has the cello and piano imitating two Chinese instruments, illustrating how the diversity of Eastern and Western music and instruments can be fused.
