AREA: Ryan, Bernice (Woodams), of Greece, died June 16, 2026, at age 99. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, John R. “Jack;” son, John; sisters, Vivian Schoelerman and Pernita Blaszak; and brothers, Robert and Alfred Woodams. She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Clint) Coolidge and Susan (Paul Lewis) Ryan; grandchildren, Zachary (Nikki) Coolidge, Bridget Middlestate (JP), and Kelly and Casey Ryan; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Bernice was a homemaker who took great pride in raising and spending time with her family. In her later life, she enjoyed reading, solving Sudoku puzzles, watching the game show channel, and was still texting on her phone at age 99.

In keeping with Bernice’s wishes, a Graveside Service will be held privately at the convenience of the family in St. John’s Cemetery, Spencerport. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Hilton.   

BROCKPORT: Ophardt, Ronald Alfred (Ronnie, Eggs, Eggman), died June 21, 2026, at age 84. Ron is survived by his wife, Donna Batty Ophardt; children, Greg (Jen) Ophardt and Tammy Ophardt; brother, Charles Ophardt; in-laws, Carl (Patricia) Batty, Diane Batty, and Wayne Young; granddaughter, Courtney Ophardt (Nick Clark); two great-granddaughters; aunt, Leora (Vernon) Ophardt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Caroline Wolf Ophardt; sister, Carol Ophardt Young; nephew, Jeff Young; granddaughter, Emily Ophardt; and sister-in-law, Joann Ophardt. A lifelong dairy and chicken farmer, Ron dedicated himself to the agricultural way of life that he loved so dearly. For many years, he was affectionately known as “The Eggman,” delivering fresh eggs and seasonal farm goods to countless families and local businesses each Friday, until his retirement in 2006. Known for his strong work ethic, warm personality, and genuine kindness, Ron touched the lives of many people through both his farming and his friendships. Later in the life, Ron and Donna were ‘adopted’ by the family of their daughter-in-law and they became loved and cherished members of the family of the late Robert and Faye Cole; children, Roger (Kim) Cole, Wendy (Scott) Shust, Jennifer (Greg) Ophardt; grandchildren, Cam Shust (Jason Baptiste), Trevor (Brittany) Ott, Taylor (Derek) Marshall, Randy Cole (Emma Randolph), Sabrina Shust; and three great-grandchildren. Ron was a devout Lutheran and served roles at St. John Lutheran Church.

Family and Friends are invited to call on Monday, June 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., 735 East Avenue, Hilton. His Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, June 30, at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 1107 West Fork Lake Road, Hamlin. Interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery, Hamlin, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, prior to the service at St. John Lutheran Church. CHURCHVILLE: Ulmer, Christine M. (Kitts), died June 16, 2026. Born September 5, 1958, in Peoria, IL, she was the daughter of Dale and Olga (Uranich) Kitts. Christine is survived by her husband, Bruce; her canine best friend, Hugo; sisters, Lynnette (Doug) Nevitt and Lori (Dave) Schaidle; brother, Dave (Jill) Kitts; son, Kyle (Katlyn) Duryea; granddaughters, Adeline and Nora; and many aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She worked at the Illinois Farm Bureau in Bloomington, IL, and later transitioned to Growmark, Inc., where she worked in human resources on the internship recruiting team for the Northeast United States. A lifelong flying enthusiast, Christine obtained her private pilot’s license with instrument rating and enjoyed several years of flight. Her other interests included landscaping, travel, book club, Seinfeld reruns, classic car events, and attending Pittsburgh Steelers football games. Christine attended Pearce Methodist Church in North Chili and was part of the ladies’ Bible study group.

A Graveside Memorial will be held on June 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fort Dever Cemetery, 226 Tax School Road, Washburn, IL. HAMLIN: Keyes, Phyllis Miller, died June 16, 2026, at age 92. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Keyes Sr.; sons, Douglas Keyes and Dean Keyes; sister, Betty Schluter; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Keyes. She is survived by her children, Donald (Berylann) Keyes Jr., Daniel Keyes, Dale (Deb) Keyes, Deana Keyes, and Deanna Keyes; grandchildren, Kali White, Nicholas Keyes, Christopher Keyes, and Adriana Keyes; four great-grandchildren; sister, Agnes (Fred) Harrington; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sidney Keyes, Herb (Verna) Keyes, Dorothy Penna, Grace Fogerty, and Betty Popiwyn; and nieces and nephews. Phyllis devoted her life to her family, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and many cherished memories. A passionate sports fan, she cheered on her favorite team, the Buffalo Bills, every football season.  She was also a big baseball fan and would root for the New York Mets over the Yankees any time, even though she liked both teams.

HILTON: Honan, Paul, died June 19, 2026, at age 58. He was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Gloria Honan; sisters, Christine and Jean-Marie; and brothers, Kevin and Larry. He is survived by his siblings, Ken Honan (Ashley Smith), Sarah (Jason) Burgett, Jessica (Brian) Kennedy, and Andy (Morgan) Honan; sister-in-law, April Honan; nieces and nephews, Nathan and Ella Howie, Kevin and Brandon Honan, Elliott, Camdyn, and Myles Honan, Carissa, Tyler, and Luke Kennedy, Wesley and Claire Brooks, and Kayla Baca. Paul served in the U.S. Army from 1986 to 1993 during Operation Desert Storm. Following his honorable service, Paul began a career with Wegmans, where he dedicated 33 years to a job he truly enjoyed. When he wasn’t working, Paul found pleasure in doing carpentry work. He took pride in building and creating things from wood. He was a natural storyteller who could captivate a room with his many tales of adventures shared with his brothers or of his Army days.

Paul’s Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 26, at 11 a.m. in Parma Union Cemetery, 260 Parma Center Road, Hilton. HILTON: Weitzel, Richard A., died June 11, 2026, at age 89. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Mildred Weitzel; sister, Nancy Weitzel; and son, Douglas Weitzel. Richard is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ann Rosa Weitzel; daughter, Linda Jean Weitzel; grandchildren, Zachary (Elizabeth “Liz”) Johnson, Kristina Weitzel, Sarah (Willis) Bell, and Rebecca (Logan) Register; and three great-grandchildren. Richard retired from the Eastman Kodak Company after 35 years of dedicated service, earning the title Journeyman Inventor in recognition of his 12 U.S. Patents. In retirement, he continued to follow his engineering instincts and took great joy in tinkering around the family home. Richard enjoyed staying active and spending time with friends on the golf course, the bowling alley, or the softball diamond. An avid gardener, he took great pride in tending both his colorful flower gardens and abundant vegetable gardens.

A Memorial Service for Richard will be held on Friday, June 26, beginning at 6 p.m. at Parma Greece United Church of Christ, 1211 Manitou Road, Hilton. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Danby Rural Cemetery. HILTON: Withrow, Richard W., died unexpectedly on June 12, 2026, at age 62. He is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie; three children, Daniel (Chelsea) Withrow, Ryan (Emily) Withrow, and Meghan (Nigel) Cunningham; grandchildren, Isaac, Kalum, Brynlee, Theodore, Elowyn, Cameron, and Noah;  sister-in-law, Cheryl Armes; brother-in-law, Randy (Ann) Wilson; father-in-law, Craig Wilson; father, Richard Withrow; sisters, Joyce (Scott) Westcott, Jackie (Fred) Tonetti, Jill and (Chris) Pusateri; uncles, Kevin (Jennifer) Withrow and Wayne (Julie) Lotz; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially Rich and Debbie Setter. Rich was predeceased by his mother, Faye Withrow, and his mother-in-law, Mary Wilson. He was an unwavering and loyal fan of the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, and New York Yankees. He enjoyed visiting Disney with Debbie and spending time at Lake Alice with family and friends.

HOLLEY: Reed, Diane E. (Soule), age 77, died suddenly on June 17, 2026. Diane was born in Albion on December 20, 1948, a daughter of the late Claude and Cornella (Sadler) Soule. In addition to her parents, Diane was predeceased by her son, Ray Pinson Jr.; husband, Ray Pinson; brothers, Roger Soule, Ronald Soule, and Russell Soule. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Pinson; granddaughter, Angie Ray Pinson; husband, Larry Reed; brother, Rick (Rita) Soule; stepchildren, Paul (Jason) Reed, Tina Reed, Larry Reed Jr., and Harris (Erin) Reed; grandchildren, Brianna (Bryan) Hardenbrook, Brittany Knapp, Chelsea Olles, Kierstyn Reed, and Morgan Davis;  sister-in-law, Beth; brothers-in-law, Rick Standish and Rick Reed; and several nieces and nephews. Diane was a hard-working lady and was employed at the former Lakeside Memorial Hospital in Brockport for 20 years. Diane was very talented and loved decorating cakes, birdwatching, going to the casino, and looking through her Ring camera at the abundance of wildlife on her front porch. She was a member of the Sheret Post #35 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

HULBERTON: Moore, Marian F., died June 15, 2026, at age 88. She was born on August 16, 1937, to the late Alva and Florence Mower. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jim; son, Bill; daughter, Barb; and sister, Shirley Robertson. Marian is survived by her children, Carol (Ray) Stern, Barbara (James) Passarell, William, and Gail (Stephen) Tipton; grandchildren, Heather, Kelly (Ben), Makayla (Ryan), Matthew, Erica (John), Dan (Carine), Lauren (Greg), and Wesley; and seven great-grandchildren. Marian was a long-time volunteer with the Fancher-Hulberton-Murray Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She and Jim traveled the U.S. in their younger years and wintered in Florida. She especially liked riding her bike in the warm weather. She loved her schnauzers, Jimmy I and Jimmy II, vanilla Oreos, and the New York Yankees.

Her Service of Remembrance was held on June 19 at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home in Holley. Interment at Hillside Cemetery. KENDALL: Manchester, Thomas “Tom” G., died June 17, 2026, at age 69. He was predeceased by his parents, Guy Manchester and Marilyn Hundley; daughter, Tracy Manchester; brother, Ronald (Cindy) Manchester; and sister, Valerie Manchester. Tom is survived by his wife of 49 years, Penny Manchester (Youmans); children, Mindy (Jason) Stephens and Trisha (Brian) Wakefield; sister, Cindy (Mike) Dwyer; grandchildren, Samantha Stephens, Kristina Stephens, Brianna Wakefield, Kaylee Stephens, and Austin Wakefield; six great-grandchildren; in-laws, Pam (Pat) McAvoy, Robert (Wendy) Youmans, and Roger (Tracy) Youmans; loyal furry bestie, Hobo the dog; and close friends, Johnny and Deborah Lewis. After high school, he entered the trades and built a career as an HVAC technician, later becoming the service manager for Van Hook in Rochester. Tom was a very family-centered man, and he carried that role with a steady devotion and lots of love. He enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life feel full. Tom loved birdwatching and crafting birdhouses for his feathered yard guests. He loved boating and jet skiing, off-roading with friends, playing pool, and bowling. His life was built with heart, filled with adventure, and created unforgettable moments with people who mattered most.
