ROCHESTER: Herrmann, Patrick J., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the age of 41. He was predeceased by his mother, Jane (Waters) Herrmann, and his aunt, Mary Ann Waters. He is survived by his wife, Michele (Connors) Herrmann, and son, Aidan; his father, Martin Herrmann; his sister, Bridget (Scott) Herrmann Fry; his brother, Shawn (Yvette); his in-laws, Robert and Patricia Connors; his sister-in-law, Sarah (David) Caiazza; his nephews and nieces: Jay, Katie, and Lily Herrmann; Angelo and Michela Caiazza; his uncles, Thomas Waters Jr., Joseph Waters, and Gary Emerling; and his aunt, Janice Emerling; and cousins; and many friends and neighbors.

Patrick was known as “Pat the Pilot” or “Raggot”. He loved aviation since his Grandpa Herrmann took him to watch planes when he was 3 years old at the Buffalo Airport. He followed his passion for aviation when he attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and flew with the ERAU Flight Team. He came home to Rochester to start his career flying in corporate aviation for nearly 20 years. He shared his love for aviation with others as a flight instructor at OnCore Aviation, the flight school he helped found.

He was also an avid sailor. He spent his Wednesdays and holidays in the summer at the Brockport Yacht Club sailing on the mighty Smack with the “Smack Guys”. He could also be found shanking golf balls with his neighbors or at Tuesday golf league.

But what he loved most was spending time with his son, Aidan, and his wife of 16 years, Michele. Patrick and Michele were high school sweethearts, together for 24 years. The Herrmanns had a shared love of Airshows, where Patrick could be found up on the air boss stand or jumping in to just “get it done”. He was a kind and gentle soul. Every person he met became a friend. He brought a sense of calm everywhere he went, and his laugh was infectious. Pat the Pilot has earned his wings for his final flight home and will be forever remembered for the calm, the laughter, and the love he brought to everyone lucky enough to know him.

Blue skies and tailwinds. Fair winds and following seas.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the International Council of Airshows (ICAS) Foundation in Patrick’s honor or a charity of your choice.

Calling hours: Wednesday, July 1, 2026, 2:00 – 5:00 pm

Service immediately following. A private reception for family and friends to come and celebrate Patrick’s life immediately following the services.
