2,500 first-year, transfer, and graduate students join the Golden Eagle family this fall
SUNY Brockport’s overall student enrollment is projected to be its highest since 2018, with approximately 8,100 students registered for the fall semester. Four consecutive years of strong student recruitment, along with the university’s highest first-year student retention rate since 2016, have fueled Brockport’s enrollment resurgence.
Demand for a SUNY Brockport degree has never been higher, as the university received a record 18,000+ undergraduate applications and welcomed students coming from as far away as California, Idaho, and New Mexico. The University invested $7 million in student scholarships to ensure students had access to a high-quality, affordable education. Four out of five undergraduate students now receive SUNY Brockport scholarships.
The dedicated support SUNY Brockport provides transfer students – including seeking to maximize credits that can be transferred in – has made Brockport the most transfer-friendly of the SUNY comprehensive colleges and universities, enrolling a sector-high 750 transfer students.
Four hundred and seventy-five new graduate students have begun classes, bringing overall graduate student enrollment to a record-high of 1,776. SUNY Brockport has the largest graduate student enrollment of any of the SUNY comprehensive colleges and universities.
“At a time when many colleges and universities are struggling to stabilize enrollment, SUNY Brockport is growing,” said SUNY Brockport President Dawn Meza Soufleris. “More and more students and families are recognizing the outstanding value of a Brockport degree. We couldn’t be more excited for our new students to join our community.”
