Holley teen takes stage at a national bodybuilding competition
Justin Servais of Holley first started getting into weight training at the age of 16. Justin, who was a wrestler at Holley High School, didn’t start getting interested in bodybuilding until after he joined a gym in Spencerport in 2010.
Justin grew up always being the “small kid” and he secretly wished he could be bigger. He began training at Atlas Fitness with the hopes to put on some size with solid muscle. While at Atlas he met a teen named Zach who was a competitive teen bodybuilder. Justin then learned that competitive bodybuilding is not just for really huge guys. When he began to consider a bodybuilding lifestyle, many people told him he couldn’t. This is what drove him to work hard at making it a reality.
Justin then met his trainer, Ralph Della Rocco, in 2011 and began preparing for his first bodybuilding competition. His first appearance on stage was at the Mr. Rochester Body Building Championship in 2012. With his hard work, discipline and the guidance of his trainer, Justin took second place in his class which qualified him to compete on a national level.
On July 20, Justin competed at the NPC Teen Collegiate Nationals with almost 800 competitors. Justin says he was proud to be able to compete on this level for his second show. He took 7th place in his class and plans to compete again in 2014.
