Despite less than ideal playing conditions to start the spring sports season, the Holley tennis team managed to begin their campaign with wins over Alexander 5-0 and Pembroke 4-1.
Junior first singles Aaron Strathearn won both of his matches 6-2, 6-4 and 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 and junior second singles Cheyan Palmer duplicated that effort with 7-5, 6-2 and 6-0. 6-2 victories.
The top doubles team of seniors Steven Morgan and Dalton Turley took both of their opponents 6-2, 6-1 and 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
Second doubles Eli Bibby (junior) and Jake Peters (junior) had little difficulty in 6-1, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-1 wins to also start 2-0.
Sophomore third singles Kristina Yaroshchuk rebounded from a 5-7 defeat in her first set against Alexander to take the next two 6-0, 6-2.
