Change is Needed
As a dog lover, pit bull advocate for many years, and dog mom to two beloved pitbull‘s, I am extremely saddened and outraged at how Vanessa has been treated these last 10 months. At the end of the day, dogs will be dogs. Vanessa had no prior history of any type of aggressive behavior. Moreso it was unclear if she was even involved in the incident. To treat her like a criminal and hold her captive for 10 months, it’s just outrageous. I hope the town learns from this incident and never allows any dog especially the pitbull breed to suffer like Vanessa has without cause. I pray she’s able to recover from the horrific life she’s been forced to live these last 10 months. BSL is merely not knowing better. Believing what the media and society has imbedded in people’s minds about this breed. We must start to educate the public and break away the misinformation on this amazing breed who has been failed by humans and continues to be.
I will end by this last statement or better get a question. If Vanessa wasn’t a pitbull, would she be treated the way she has been? Unfortunately most of us know the answer to this.
Praying for Vanessa’s recovery and hoping her future is brighter than ever.
