Hilton High School Drumline wins WGI Mid-Atlantic Regional

Hilton’s Drumline will host a local exhibition for parents, community members and school officials on Saturday, April 13 at 2 p.m. in the Hilton High School gymnasium, 400 East Avenue, Hilton.The Hilton High School Drumline placed first in the WGI Mid-Atlantic Regional Finals competition held in Unionville, Pennsylvania on Saturday, March 16. Competing in the Percussion Scholastic A Division against 23 drumlines from New York, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, Hilton qualified for the finals with the highest WGI percussion score to date. The WGI Unionville Regional is one of 19 separate competitions held throughout the United States and Europe in February and March. Following Hilton’s first place result, the ensemble has now qualified for and will compete in the WGI World Championships to be held in Dayton, Ohio in April. Hilton’s remaining local competition schedule included Waterloo on March 23 and then Victor (March 30), and the NYS Percussion Circuit Championships at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse (April 7). The Hilton High School Drumline is under the direction of HCSD faculty member Tim Stodd.
