The Hilton Apple Fest Apple Pie Contest gives folks an opportunity to bake an apple pie for a chance at the coveted Best Apple Pie title. This year, so many people want to be a judge that there are ten judges in total, each tasting to discover New York’s next best apple pie.
Each pie is judged first by appearance, then taste and texture. A point rating system is used to measure each pie and select that which is found to excel at all of the qualities becoming of New York’s finest apple pie. Winners of the Adult Division will receive $100 for first place, $50 for second place, and $25 for third place. The winners in the Youth Division will receive $50 for first place and $25 for second place.
All pies must be submitted at the Hilton Community Center Ingham Room at 59 Henry Street between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 4. The winners will be announced at 4 p.m. at the Main Stage the same day.
