Healthy Baby Network receives Fidelis Care grant
Fidelis Care, a statewide health plan with more than 2.5 million members in New York State and a wholly owned subsidiary of Centene Corporation, presented a $10,000 maternal health grant to Healthy Baby Network on Wednesday, March 13. The distribution is one of nine grants awarded to community-based not-for-profit organizations that support maternal health and wellness across New York State. The grants, totaling $158,000, will assist these organizations that play a vital role in ensuring safe pregnancies and healthy babies – particularly for underserved, lower-income women and their families.
Healthy Baby Network of Rochester’s primary goal is to ensure that every parent in the community has the information and support needed to bring a healthy baby into a nurturing home. The organization plans to use the Fidelis Care grant to provide pregnancy-related education, support, and partnership that vulnerable parents in the community need to pursue and achieve optimal health for themselves and their babies. In collaboration with community partners, the grant will also help provide diapers, wipes, car seats, strollers, workshops, and other resources to Healthy Baby Network clients.
