Spencerport author’s book sales to benefit people of Ukraine

Jay Diedreck of Spencerport has been busy during his retirement writing uplifting and enchanting novels. His most recent work, I Hear My Lighthouse Calling, was released late last year, published by Christian Faith Publishing, located in Meadville, Pennsylvania. All four of his novels are set along the sea-swept coast of Maine.

Diedreck writes about his latest book, “A Victorian village, which I call Port James, and its proud lighthouse are found nestled along the majestic and rocky Maine coast. My main characters are Abby and Lloyd, her new man friend. Lloyd is an accomplished woodworker specializing in gazebos and cottage-like structures. Abby has just graduated from a local college in business and marketing. As the story unfolds, we see that she has a potential life-changing decision, which may include Lloyd. The ambience of Maine, her lighthouse and loving family flow from the pages like gentle ocean breezes and waves.”

With his book sales in the past, Diedreck has raised a few hundred dollars for the nonprofit organization, Food for the Poor, and the same amount for Spencerport Ecumenical Food Shelf. He is doing a new fundraiser at this time with the sale of any of his four novels. All profits will be going to Roc Maidan, a Rochester-based Ukrainian organization that will be aiding the Ukrainian refugees. Through Roc Maidan, food, clothing, and medicine will be delivered where needed.

Diedreck’s books can be purchased locally from Lift Bridge Book Shop in Brockport, The Unique Shop in Spencerport, and Alpha and Omega on Ridge Road West. His other novels are Klem Watercrest the Lighthouse Keeper, Seaside Journeys of Faith, and A Port James Romance.
