The Brockport Village Election is Tuesday, June 18, noon to 9 p.m. at the Brockport Village Court, 49 State Street.
Four candidates are vying for two Trustee positions on the Village Board (4-year term to June 30, 2028).
Joanne Bocach
I have lived in the Brockport area for the past 32 years with the last four years within the village. I am and have been involved in many local organizations (i.e. Girl Scout leader, Brockport Youth Football team mother, managed the concession stand for Brockport high school football boosters, current 16-year member of the Town of Sweden Assessment Review Board, current member of Brockport Elks Lodge, current volunteer for Honor Flight Rochester, current member of Brockport Merchants Association, and current local church member).
My professional career has been in banking, engineering, and most recently 22 years as a local realtor. As a realtor I have won several customer service and professional sales awards.
I am currently on the board of two large Homeowners’ Associations. I have led both as president. I am presently the treasurer for one. As a member of those boards, I have extensive budget, financial forecasting, contract bidding and review, and contract negotiating experience.
I feel the expertise I have developed will benefit Brockport in countless ways. With a portion of my family residing in the area, I want to make Brockport a desirable place for them and future generations to reside. I feel my knowledge and experience will be a great asset for the Village. Please allow me to put my skills to work for you by voting for me for Brockport Village Trustee.

I do not make false promises. I do my homework and prepare carefully to speak or act. For the last fourteen years I have been pro-village, pro-Brockport Police and pro-volunteering to help keep Brockport vibrant and on the move. In my years of keeping an eye on all things Brockport, I have attended countless Village board meetings and learned what it means to be a trustee, create a municipal budget, and have meaningful and respectful dialogue with board members.
My volunteer work on the Village Parks Committee for the past twelve years has provided me with the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the village. As chair for the past seven years, I have gained valuable experience overseeing our nine Village Parks, working closely with fellow Parks Committee members and with our Department of Public Works.
Our Village government has worked diligently to secure $1.4 million in grants the last three years. We are in line to secure even more funds to help improve our infrastructure and our quality of life. There are many exciting projects the current village board is working on and I want to be more involved and part of their positive push for improving Brockport.
With your vote for me on June 18, I hope to become the newest member of the Brockport Village Board. I have the time and energy to devote to working for you and seeing us through to more prosperous times ahead.

It’s been an honor to have served on the Brockport Village Board since 2018. During these six years, decisions the Board has made have always been done with the best interest of the whole community in mind, both now and into the future. We’ve preserved the safety, services and quality of life you deserve and have continually kept an eye on the overall financial health of the Village. There are major issues ahead to confront, particularly long-term water and sanitary sewer projects that will require careful forethought and execution in stages as funding becomes available. Vigilance and planning intelligence will ensure that the interruptions are minimal, and the cost burden is logically addressed for the years to come.
Many positive things have happened in the last few years because of the diligent work of our dedicated Village departments’ staff members. Working with our grant writer, funds totaling over $1.4 million have been secured for Market Street improvements, sidewalk upgrades, Corbett Park recreation enhancements, and the Clark Street redesigning work. These projects and several others in the planning stages align with our Comprehensive Plan, a living document created by residents, employees and the Board to guide our vision moving forward. And our Empire Trail Town status makes us a destination for adventurers from around the world!
I would like to continue to use the experience I’ve gained in our deliberations, negotiations, and budgeting process to further the work begun for our Village and help us move forward in a sensible and sustainable manner. I’m asking for your vote on June 18. I promise to continue the work to make Brockport a great place to visit and a better place to live. Thank you!

I was born and raised in Brockport. I graduated from Brockport Central. I’ve always had a curious keen mind. At the age of 14 I took an interest in appliance repair. What started out as a hobby back then is now a very successful appliance repair business here in Brockport. Along the way, besides becoming adept at appliance repair, I have had to manage my company’s financial budgets as well as predicting future needs and costs. I’ve cut my expenses as needed, staying competitive without deterring from meeting my customers’ needs and contentment. I believe my strong work principles and commitment to my customers would be an asset on the Village Board of Trustees. I have a very solid, vested interest in our community, and in the customers I serve.
