Guests Will Experience the Difference Extension Makes
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County (CCE Monroe) is inviting community members, partners, volunteers, elected officials, and supporters to experience its work in an entirely new way at its 2026 Annual Meeting, Step Into Our Work: Experience the Difference Extension Makes, on Thursday, October 22, at the Robach Community Center.
Rather than a traditional Annual Meeting centered around presentations and program displays, this year’s event will invite guests to become active participants in the work of Extension.
Throughout the evening, attendees will rotate through five immersive, hands-on experiences inspired by CCE Monroe programs taking place across the county every day. Guests will have opportunities to explore, discover, solve problems, build skills, and connect while gaining a firsthand understanding of how Extension education translates knowledge into practical action.
“One of the things we hear frequently is that people may know one or two of our programs, but they don’t always realize the full scope of what Extension does throughout Monroe County,” said Andrea Lista, Executive Director of CCE Monroe. “This year, instead of simply telling people about our work, we’re inviting them to step into it. We want guests to experience the way Extension helps people learn, build skills, solve real-world problems, and strengthen their communities.”
The evening’s experiences will reflect the breadth of CCE Monroe’s work in areas including youth development, nutrition, horticulture, agriculture, natural resources, workforce development, and community education.
Each guest will receive a Step Into Our Work passport to guide them through the evening and mark each experience along the way. The interactive portion of the event will be followed by CCE Monroe’s Annual Business Meeting, recognition, and awards.
