Ogden Baptist Church invites community to anniversary celebration

Ogden Baptist Church will hold a 200th Anniversary celebration picnic on Saturday, June 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 721 Washington Street. The community is invited. Hot dogs and picnic fare will be available from noon to 2 p.m. There will be games, and good company with OBC members young and old. Those planning to attend should RSVP to 490-4751 to ensure enough food for all, and bring folding chairs. The Ogden Historical Society’s Pulver House, located just across the road, will be open and staffed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for those wanting to experience more local history.

The community is also invited to join OBC congregants for a special anniversary worship at 11 a.m on Sunday, June 2.

This weekend is part of a larger year-long celebration of the Ogden Baptist Church’s 200th anniversary. The congregation has been collecting and donating items to various charitable groups throughout the year. Donations have included food items for the Food Shelf, a variety of items for Cameron Community Ministries, and gift cards for Aurora House. Historical tidbits have been featured at worship services and the children will be preparing a Time Capsule later in the year. Many pictures of church members and activities will be shared on June 1 and 2. Those with 40 or more years of membership will be honored in September.
