Amanda Daubert (above, second left) of Girl Scout Troop 60727 has earned her Gold Award by planning a “Blessing Box” that has been set up at Hilton Baptist Church. The Blessing Box, containing food and personal items, hopes to meet the needs of the community. “Take what you need, donate what you can” is the message painted on the front. Those who need something are welcome to check the box, and those who want to donate can leave things in the box. The Gold Award is the highest honor in Girl Scouting and an acknowledgement of Amanda’s drive and passion as she prepares herself to be a future leader.
