Life Solutions prepares for annual holiday events amidst pandemic

by Tami Raco

Life Solutions of Hamlin has been making the holidays brighter for many families in the Hamlin Clarkson area for the past 20 years. With the lingering implications of COVID-19 they plan to continue serving the community with some changes to help keep everyone healthy.

The Angel Tree Program, which provides Christmas gifts to more than 200 local children, will still take place. To participate by purchasing a gift for a sponsored local child, call 585-204-6730. Gifts will be due the first week of December and can be dropped off at the Life Solutions store located at 1696 Lake Road, Hamlin.

The Life Solutions annual Holiday Bazaar, which was typically held at Hamlin’s St. John Lutheran Church the first Saturday of December, has been a staple of holiday events for the community by providing affordable Christmas shopping opportunities to children and families while supporting the local food shelf. COVID won’t stop this beloved community event. Instead of holding it one day at the church, the shopping event is being held at the Life Solutions store. Shopping hours are Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hundreds of gift items are spread out over the 3,000+ square foot store for social distancing and safe holiday shopping.

Life Solutions provides meals and necessities to those in the community who have need. They are accepting donations of like-new toys, household goods, and food donations or food gift cards. Donations can be dropped off at the store during regular business hours. Residents of Hamlin or Clarkson who are in need or know of a family in need are asked to contact Life Solutions at 964-7420 for assistance.

Event updates and more information is available on the Life Solutions of Hamlin Facebook page.
