Each librarian in Spencerport schools created a timeline of American flags in their buildings, and at the high school, librarian Daniel Hawken was able to take the display a step further, thanks to the local American Legion.
Hawken reached out to Ferris Goodridge Post 330, which generously donated the flags shown here. Pictured is Hawken, left, with Commander Robert J. Cullingworth, who was recently promoted from Sergeant at Arms to Commander.
This timeline will return each year leading up to Flag Day. The district will also proudly continue its tradition of displaying flags from around the world—now expanded to include those representing the heritage of its students—celebrating the diversity of its school community year-round.
