Greece Post 468 will host American Legion Baseball Championship Tournaments from July 25 to August 3 at Penfield High School, 25 High School Drive, Penfield. Organizers are looking for volunteers to work on the following dates and times (you don’t have to sign up for the whole day; you can work for as long as you want). The day starts early with daily setup and ends late with final cleanup.
Senior Tournament:
- Saturday, July 25: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Sunday, July 26: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Monday, July 27: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Tuesday, July 28: 1 to 7 p.m.
- Wednesday, July 29: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Thursday, July 30, rain day if necessary: 8 a.m. to noon
Junior Tournament:
- Friday, July 31: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Saturday, August 1: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Sunday, August 2: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Monday, August 3, rain day if necessary: 8 a.m. to noon
Help is needed in the following areas on tournament days: Gate/Access Control/Security, Safety, T-Shirt Sales, 50-50 Sales, Veterans Visits/VIP/Veteran Family, Volunteer Catering, Water, Scouts, and Parking/Signage.
With at least 23 games scheduled, Greece Post 468 also needs National Anthem singers and people to throw out the first pitch for each game. They would also like to have a Color Guard to participate in pregame ceremonies for every game.
Before the tournaments start, people are needed to secure sponsorships, donations, and program book solicitations, and to help with banquets held the night before each tournament at Greece Post 468.
