Town of Sweden undertakes energy efficiency plan

The Town of Sweden is implementing an energy efficiency plan that involves exchanging old lighting fixtures for LED fixtures. The plan is the second phase of an LED conversion program for three municipal buildings: the Sweden Town Hall, the Sweden Highway Garage and the Sweden/Clarkson Community Center.

Estimated annual savings are $8,900 across the three buildings. Sweden is paying 45 percent of the conversion costs; National Grid 55 percent. The payback periods are 1.5 years at the Community Center, 2.3 years at the Highway Garage and 3.3 years at the Town Hall.
