Sweden Town Board sets several public hearing dates

The Sweden Town Board will hold several public hearings in April and May. On April 27 at 7 p.m., a moratorium on Solar Farms and Commercial Solar Power Projects will be considered. The board would like to pause solar farm applications until it has time to craft some changes to the town code. On May 11 at 6:30 p.m., the town board will hear an application to permit one residential property entry into the Fourth Section North Side Sewer District.

Two public hearings will be held on May 25. The first, at 6:45 p.m., is regarding the Iroquois Rock Excavation Permit. The permit is renewable every three years. At 7 p.m., the town board will hold a public hearing concerning the Stonebriar South rezoning application of portions of two parcels south of Fourth Section Road, between Lake Road and Redman Road. This is the second public hearing on the application. The first public hearing was held in April 2019. Although a second hearing is not legally required, the board considers it is appropriate due to the length of time since the first public hearing.

A public hearing was held on April 13 on the Bentley Brothers rezoning application for property on the south side of Brockport Spencerport Road just west of Sweden Walker Road. No one from the public attended the hearing. The board is likely to take action on that application at its April 27 meeting. All of the public hearings are scheduled to take place at the Sweden Town Hall, 18 State Street.
