SCCC offers up favorite summer programming

Seniors can imagine themselves at the beach when they pick up a beach ball and serve up a game of chair volleyball this summer. The Sweden/Clarkson Community Center has pick-up games on Tuesdays from 1 to 2 p.m. Cost is $1 to drop in and play a little volleyball.

A long-time favorite youth program is back. Safety Town will be held July 26 through 30 from 2 to 3 p.m. The program is all about learning how to prevent childhood accidents while having fun. Guest presenters include police, fire, and ambulance crew members. Register online or call 431-0090 for information.

Swim lessons are coming in August. The Brockport Central School District has given the Recreation Department approval to use the pool again, and the recreation department is working to hire instructors and lifeguards before it announces the lesson schedule. Certified instructors/lifeguards who are interested in a position should call 431-0090 or stop in at the Community Center, 4927 Lake Road, Brockport.
