Two Hilton businesses recognized for their support of cancer research

This is a very challenging time for our community, specifically small businesses. The Edelman-Gardner Cancer Research Foundation has been fortunate to have many supporters on our journery to help fight cancer. We appreciate the support our community has given to us for more than 40 years. We could not have given Wilmot Cancer Center more than a million dollars for cancer research in those 40 years without this support. Fundraising isn’t what it used to be when we first started the foundation. Because of the important role small businesses have played in our fundraising, we wanted to give some recognition back.

We have implemented the Edelman-Gardner Cancer Research Foundation Recognition and Appreciation Award. Our plan is to honor a business or organization in the community that has been supportive of us. In 2019, we recognized the Hilton Fire Department for all they have done in the past and continue to do for the foundation. Due to the limitations COVID placed on us, we skipped 2020. On December 6, 2021, we honored two local businesses in Hilton.

We hare honored and proud to announce that the 2020 and 2021 Recognition Award goes to Cindy Lutwiller at Shear Emotion Hair Salon and Tom and Annamaria Bonn at the Arlington Restaurant. Both businesses have continued to support us throughout this pandemic. They care about the people in their community and have chosen to give back by supporting cancer research. As a way of saying thanks, please stop in and stay for dinner at the restaurant or a pampering beauty treatment at the salon. Tell them, “Thank you for giving back to the community.” The Arlington Restaurant is located at 3 Main Street, Hilton, and Shear Emotion & Caribbean Sun Tanning is located at 1026 Hilton-Parma Corners Road, Hilton.
