H-P Senior Center offering day trip to Thousand Islands

The Hilton-Parma Senior Center is offering a day trip to the Thousand Islands on Wednesday, July 20. The day includes visits to two museums, lunch, and an ice cream treat on the way home. The walking level for this trip is 2 to 3, at your leisure.

Depart from the Village Community Center at 7 a.m. for a fun-filled day in Clayton, New York. The first stop will be the Thousand Islands Museum. The group will venture along the photo-lined hallway to discover an intriguing world of hard work and heartache, passion and patriotism, triumph, and tragedy. Plan to meet heroes and villains; explore castles and caves.

The group will have lunch at O’Brien’s with a selection of salad and sandwich options to choose from. If time allows, there will be an opportunity to shop on Main Street.

The afternoon will be spent at the Antique Boat Museum (ABM) located on the St. Lawrence River. ABM is the premier freshwater boating museum in North America and has collections of over 320 unique boats and thousands of related artifacts and archives. The 4.5-acre campus comes alive with speedboat rides, a working skiff livery, and educational programs.

Arrive back at the Village Community Center around 7 p.m.

Cost of the trip is $95 for Parma residents and $115 for non-residents. Deadline to register is Wednesday, July 13; call Hilton-Parma Recreation at 392-9030.
