The RMSC’s Innovation Celebration Gala returns to its home campus at the Museum & Science Center on Saturday, September 9, 2023.
Innovation Celebration is the largest annual fundraising event for all three locations of the RMSC: the Museum and Science Center, the Strasenburgh Planetarium, and the Cumming Nature Center. All proceeds from this event will help further the RMSC’s mission to inspire a better future for all through curiosity, exploration, and participation in science, culture, and the natural world.“
With over 1.2 million objects in our collection, not everything can be displayed at once. At the Celebration, we are excited to uncover some fascinating and historic stories from our community, drawing inspiration from the objects we house in our collection,” said Hillary Olson, President and CEO of the RMSC. “Our unique exhibits, programs, and shows at the Museum & Science Center, Planetarium, and Nature Center allow people to cultivate their own curiosity, giving visitors the ability to explore and experience wonder during every visit.”
This year’s gala theme is Untold Stories. Visitors will uncover the hidden histories of Rochester and mind-blowing achievements in science and technology represented in the RMSC’s offerings and collections. Discover the stories of Jikonsaseh, an influential female leader; Howard W. Coles, an activist, historian, and author; Martha Matilda Harper, the first retail franchiser; and many more!
During the event, attendees can look forward to exclusive access to the RMSC Museum & Science Center, curated cocktails, a silent premier auction, live music from Don’t Know Jack, a roving dinner throughout the Museum & Science Center, and A Story Corner to share their own Untold Story.
