B. Louise Sullivan Callard

•Callard, B. Louise Sullivan, of Fairport, formerly of Clarendon, died January 27, 2014 just 3 weeks shy of her 97th birthday. Louise was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Clarence Jay “Bud” Callard and her brother Nicholas Sullivan. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Cindy Callard; grandchildren, Bridget, Andrew and Jack Callard; sister, Dorothea Wohlgemuth; sisters-in-law, Marge Sullivan, Irene Hammerick, Constance (Donald) Gaines; nephews, Richard (Sylvia) Wohlgemuth and Nicholas Sullivan, Jr.; many nieces and nephews on her husband’s side; special friend, Pat Miller. Louise began her teaching career in a two room school house in Macedon, in 1939. From 1941 until 1957 she taught first grade and special education in the Syracuse area. Upon marrying Clarence Callard 1957, she moved to Clarendon, and returned to teaching in Holley Central School District in 1963, where she retired in 1977 as reading director and Title I coordinator. Louise spent 33 years as a teacher. Louise was involved in the Clarendon Historical Society, the Orleans County Historical Society, the Legion of Mary, Literacy Volunteers, the Orleans County Retired Teachers Association and St. Mary’s Senior Group.

Her Funeral Mass was said February 1 at the Church of Resurrection, Fairport. Spring Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations can be made to Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA), 1011 First Avenue, New York, NY 10022-4195 or a charity of one’s choice in her memory.
