Robert M. Ellis

Robert “Bob” passed in the comfort of his home after being tended to by his granddaughter, Betsy, her son, Henry Nicholas and loving companion, Maya on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at age 96.

Predeceased by his wife, Jean; and daughters, Marcia Kelly and Donna Ellis. Survived by his grandchildren, Betsy Traub, Adam Traub, Christopher (Margaret) LoPiano, Deanna (Andy) McLymond and Brianna (Lindsay) Peterson; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Gloria (William) Ritchie; sister-in-law, Corleen Mee; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Bob was a PFC 303rd Combat Engineer in the 78th Division during WWII veteran. He served in France and Germany and then worked at Kodak for 36 years. he was a member of the Chili American Legion Post 1830 for many years.

Bob was happiest spending time outdoors with his hands in the garden, and the earth at his feet. Special thanks go out to his sister, Gloria, who spent endless hours providing company, laughs and his favorite foods, his dear friends, Fiona and John, who called daily and sent love from overseas, and his grandchildren, who tended to his care in his last days.

Family and friends may call at the Leo M. Beans and Sons Funeral Home Monday 3-5pm. Funeral Mass Tuesday 9:30am at St. Pius Tenth Church, 3000 Chili Ave. Rochester, NY 14624. Interment, Grove Place Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation, Attn: Donor Services, Epilepsy Foundation, 3540 Crain Highway Suite 675 Bowie, MD 20716.
