On Sunday, May 25, B & C Christ Farms, 2241 Peter Smith Road, Kendall, will sponsor a day of events that will benefit Mercy Flight. Courtesy of the local farm market, various aspects of the day of activities will help keep Mercy Flight in the air aiding accident victims throughout western New York. The emergency-gear equipped helicopter may also be on site. more

Candlelight tour takes visitors behind the battle lines
At Genesee Country Village & Museum's Civil War Candlelight Tour on Saturday, May 24, visitors will be able to stride across battle lines to visit North and South soldiers and civilians as they deal with wartime life. more

C-C holds annual community music festival
The Churchville-Chili Eighth Annual Community Music Festival will be held on Sunday, June 1 from 1 to 7 p.m. The event will be held at the Churchville-Chili Senior High School soccer fields located in front of the high school. more

Twenty-one students from Churchville-Chili Senior High School (CCSH) competed in the 2003 Johnson & Johnson FIRST Robotics Mid-Atlantic Regional competition held in Rutgers, New Jersey. more

Historic milestones spotlighted in ROPEX Show
ROPEX, the national level stamp show sponsored by the Rochester Philatelic Association is set for Friday, June 20 through Sunday, June 22 at the Webster Community Field House at R. L. Thomas High School, 800 Five Mile Line Road in Webster. Show hours are 10-6, 10-5, and 10-4 respectively. Admission and parking are free. more

Northern Lights District honors outstanding scout leaders
The Northern Lights District Award of Merit, the most prestigious honor a district can give, will be presented to five local Boy Scout leaders who have been chosen for their noteworthy service to youth through leadership of western Monroe County Scout units. After ten years as the welcoming voice for visitors, staff and students at the Career and Technical Education Center, BOCES 2 Career and Technical Education Center receptionist Judy Lockwood is retiring. Lockwood will continue her 'other' career as a real estate agent with Prudential Discover Real Estate. more

Willows Yacht Club celebrates 30 years with Sail By and picnic
2003 marks a milestone for the Willows Yacht Club. This year the Willows Yacht Club celebrates their 30th anniversary. A special celebration has been planned for the Sail-By and picnic which is scheduled for June 14. more

On June 21, the New York State Park Police, Genesee Region, will be conducting a Personal Watercraft Safety Course at the Hamlin Town Hall, 1658 Lake Road, Hamlin. This course will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. more

History’s great personalities represented in school program
Susan B. Anthony, Frederick Douglass and Harriett Tubman all visited Bernabi Elementary School in Spencerport as part of a week-long residency in April about famous people of the Civil War era. People portraying the historical figures presented interpretations of their lives. The residency is one of the BOCES 2 ADEPT (A Diversified Enrichment Program for the Talented) program offerings. more

The Spencerport School Board has approved names for the roads on the district's main campus. more

Spencerport School receives grant for plants
Bernabi and Canal View Elementary Schools have received a $500 grant to replant greenery that was removed as part of the construction project. Sam's Club on Ridge Road presented the grant to Bernabi teacher Jerry Virzi and a group of students on April 22, Earth Day. more
