Hawks singles dominant in back-to-back victories

Seniors Aaron Strathearn, Cheyan Palmer and Kristina Yaroshchuk each won their respective singles matches on consecutive days to lead Holley to 5-0 and 4-1 wins over Alexander and Pembroke over a two-day period.

Strathearn defeated his first singles opponents 6-2, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-2 while Palmer also swept his second singles foe 6-1, 6-3 after rebounding in a big way one day prior from an opening set 4-6 loss to take the final two sets 6-0, 6-0.

Yaroshchuk had little trouble at third singles winning 6-2, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-1.

The second doubles squad of freshman Cora Bennage and senior Kory Puente defeated their Alexander opponent 7-5, 2-6, 6-2 one day after Bennage and senior Eli Bibby did the same to Pembroke 6-0, 6-1.

Bibby and classmate Jake Peters won at first doubles 6-1, 6-1 versus Alexander.

The Hawks, after starting the season 1-4, have now won four consecutive matches to improve to 5-4 overall and 4-2 against division opponents.
