NY SMART I-Corridor launches new website

The NY SMART I-Corridor has unveiled a new website to power collaboration across the semiconductor ecosystem. From Buffalo to Syracuse, the site highlights how Upstate New York is building the future of American chipmaking.

The website highlights the NY SMART I-Corridor’s three core initiatives: the Supply Chain Activation Network (SCAN), the Semiconductor Talent and Employer Partnership Upstate New York (STEP UP), and the Commercialization and Collaboration Center (C3). Together, these programs offer support to strengthen supply chains, grow talent, and continue semiconductor innovation in Upstate NY.

“This website is a major step toward making Upstate New York a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing,” said Joe Stefko, President & CEO of OneROC. “The site gives businesses, institutions, and individuals the resources needed to get involved with Tech Hub opportunities.”

The new platform gives businesses the opportunity to get involved with the Tech Hub in the following ways:
•Connect semiconductor manufacturers with suppliers, and provide tools to help businesses grow, get funding, and scale up production.
•Connect businesses with employer-led training programs, labor market data, and inclusive support to build the region’s next-generation semiconductor workforce.
•Support for startups and researchers to bring new semiconductor technologies to market, collaborate across industries, and receive funding.

Designated one of just 12 federal Tech Hubs, the NY SMART I-Corridor is led by the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, CenterState CEO and OneROC, and supported by a coalition of over 100 organizations – spanning leading businesses, higher education, economic development groups and community based organizations. All are committed to building America’s semiconductor future from the ground up, by creating quality jobs, supporting American innovation, and strengthening national security.

The NY SMART I-Corridor is already home to more than 100 semiconductor and supply chain companies, five fabrication facilities, and nearly $121 billion in new investment since 2022. With continued support from Micron, Wolfspeed, Menlo Micro, Corning, and others, the region is poised to produce one in four American made chips by 2034.
