C-C Student Artwork on Display

In Exhibitions at RIT and Nazareth

This winter, Churchville-Chili students are sharing their talents with the wider community. Twelve high school students have artwork on display at Rochester Institute of Technology and Nazareth University. These shows highlight student voice, strong partnerships, and the power of arts education.

Eight Churchville-Chili students were selected for the START HEREexhibition on display in the Bevier Gallery at RIT through February 7. This annual show features student artwork chosen by teachers from across the Rochester and Finger Lakes region.

One Churchville-Chili student earned special recognition for his piece in the exhibition. Senior Jaise Newman won the School of Art’s Art Education Award for 3D work.

Shared Spaces art show at Nazareth University
Four Churchville-Chili students are also part of Shared Spaces, a teacher-and-student art show at Nazareth University. This biennial exhibit celebrates the close learning relationship between teachers and students. Teacher and student artwork is displayed side-by-side without names, so each piece stands on its own.

The show opened on January 30 and will be on display through March 30 at the Arts Center Gallery at Nazareth University. Gallery hours are Sunday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday, noon to 8 p.m.

Churchville-Chili artists featured include: Kelly Bosco and Shavonne Callahan (grade 12), Kate Jacobs and Addison Wilson (grade 11), Sara Rogers and Taylor Stocks (grade 12), and Jordyn Wolcott and Mya Arrendell (grade 10).

Families, friends, and community members are invited to attend these shows. These partnerships with RIT and Nazareth give students real-world opportunities to share their work and grow as artists.
