After her children were grown, she became a home caregiver to the elderly for many throughout the greater Rochester area. Diane was resilient. In the 1990s, she endured aggressive treatment for cancer. As she entered her 80th year, she decided to paint her entire house as a COVID diversion. Later diagnosed with Parkinson’s, she cared for her husband, Tom, during health difficulties until her own health condition worsened. Diane loved quilting, refinishing furniture, crafting, gardening, and making preserves out of Tom’s harvests. She loved this quote from Emily Dickinson: “You will not see me, so you must have faith; until then, live life to the fullest, and when you need me, just whisper my name in your heart, and I will be there.”
Family and friends are invited to Diane’s Funeral Mass on Monday, March 30, at 10 a.m. at St. Pius Tenth Church, 3000 Chili Avenue, Rochester. Inurnment, St. Pius Cemetery.
