Community Comes Together to Support Veterans Through Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser

On April 17, the Churchville Lions Club and Harvey C. Noone American Legion Post No. 954 joined forces to host a successful spaghetti dinner fundraiser, bringing the community together in support of local veterans.
The event drew a sizeable crowd, serving more than 220 dinners at $12 each, along with additional donations from generous community members. The funds raised—totaling several thousand dollars—will help support the Post’s annual Veterans Day luncheon, a longstanding tradition that provides a free meal each year to veterans and a guest in recognition of their service.
The evening was a true team effort. Members of the Churchville Lions Club took charge in the kitchen, preparing the meal that included spaghetti, salad, and dessert. Special recognition goes to head chef Jim Ehremtraut and his dedicated team for delivering a memorable dining experience.
Meanwhile, members of the American Legion handled event setup and serving duties, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for all attendees. Assistance from Scout Troop 133 and Scout Troop 813 proved invaluable. The scouts went above and beyond—serving guests, delivering takeout meals, and helping with cleanup at the end of the evening.
Terry Nau and his family turned out in force to lend their support, and Legion Auxiliary and Post members managed ticket sales, takeout orders, and front-door operations, with Barb Quinn playing a key role. Behind the scenes, Tish Juergens prepared and set up the Legion Hall prior to the event.
Commander Kenneth G. Juergens expressed his gratitude, stating, “The support from our community was tremendous. This event ensures we can continue our Veterans Day tradition and honor those who have served our nation. We truly appreciate everyone who contributed their time, effort, and generosity.”
The success of the fundraiser highlights the strength of the Churchville community and its ongoing commitment to honoring and supporting local veterans and their families.
