Brockport Federal Credit Union's (BFCU) 2004 Credit Unions Care for Kids Campaign included a cash gift of $300, along with many new toys valued over $200 which will be distributed to pediatric patients treated in various departments at Lakeside Memorial Hospital. more

IACC hosts Women of the Year Awards

Fourth and fifth graders at Brockport's Hill School completed the school's sixth historical calendar recently and donated some of the proceeds to the Emily L. Knapp Museum of Local History in Brockport. more

Brockport students perform in music festival
The following Brockport Central student musicians in grades 7-9 participated in the Monroe County School Music Association's Junior/Senior High All County Music Festival at Webster-Schroeder March 18-19. Hilton raises money through jump rope-a-thon
"It is very apparent that Hilton has heart," said Judith Roll, former District Jump Rope-A-Thon for Heart coordinator. Roll is stepping down from this volunteer job after 20 years. Local Elks supply dictionaries
David Yeaw, Exalted Ruler of the Brockport Elks Lodge 2110, recently told third-graders at Brockport's Barclay Elementary School that their words are powerful. "You will be judged all your life on how well you express yourselves," he said. "You are the future of this country and you need to be well educated." more

London Bridge came tumbling down
It was the Battle of the Bridges among fifth graders at the Taylor Elementary School on March 14 as teams competed to see who could build the strongest bridge. And when all the toothpicks had settled, it was the “Point Blank Bridges” team composed of Andrew Swanson, Colton Surdyk, Hank Wedow, and Brenna DeAngelis who could claim bragging rights. more

National Honor Society induction held at Hilton High School
The Hilton High School chapter of the National Honor Society inducted 20 seniors and 69 juniors into the Honor Society March 6 in the high school's newly renovated auditorium. NHS President Kristen Schue served as master of ceremonies. more

awarded grand champion trophy

The Spencerport High School Vocal Jazz group now has a new trophy to add to its collection: Vocal Jazz Grand Champion of the Roxbury (NJ) Choral Invitational. Members received the honor when they competed against concert, show and jazz choirs from New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. more

Brockport Orangemen defeat Holy Cross
The Brockport Orangemen defeated Holy Cross at the Blue Cross Arena on Saturday, March 5, by a score of 39 to 33. Under the leadership of Coach Steve Zaffuto, the 5th and 6th grade team finished their season with a record of 26-14. This first year team won three tournament championships. more

Bright Raven Gymnastics girls teams win
at Niagara Cup, boys qualify for States

Bright Raven Gymnastics Level 4 and 5 Teams captured first place at the 2005 Niagara Cup held at the University of Buffalo Alumni Arena. more
