Holley Post Office will offer passport service
Travelers to Canada, Mexico and other locations may have delayed applying for a soon-to-be required U.S. passport because of busy work schedules, but the U.S. Postal Service is providing a weekend solution to make it easy to file applications with the State Department. more

Sweden will continue offering recycling center services
After holding a public information meeting, reviewing written comments from residents, consulting with other municipalities and private refuse services, the Sweden Town Board will increase the cost of a recycling center pass and place an expiration date on passes to close the gap between the current fee charged for the service and the actual cost of operating the center. more

Tractor safety course to be offered
Orleans County Cornell Cooperative Extension will be offering a course for tractor and machinery operation. Successful completion of this course provides exemption to 14 and 15-year-olds from the Hazardous Occupations Order in Agriculture which prevents youth under 16 from performing hazardous agricultural tasks. more

In Kendall, as in many of its surrounding rural areas, it is not unusual to see migrant farm workers in the fields from early spring through late fall. Kendall High School's Spanish Club, under the direction of advisors Lisa Perry and Gretchen Rosales, is well aware of these workers and has organized a Jean Drive to help them. more
