Sweden Senior Center celebrates accreditation
The Sweden Senior Center in Brockport celebrated its national accreditation with events at the center on Friday, September 14 and Saturday, September 15. The center, at 133 State Street, became the first nationally accredited senior center in Monroe County earlier this year. more


In Sports

Bisons 12U wrap up season
The Sweden-Clarkson Bisons 12U travel baseball team finished its season by traveling to Cooperstown for tournament play. The tournament was held at the Cooperstown All Star Village during the week of August 4 through 10. The 11 member team, coached by Mike Myers and Tim Coughlin, played six games to determine positioning for the two day final rounds. more

Brockport wins homecoming tilt
Brockport scored 21 points in the second half enroute to a 28-14 win over rival Cortland during the college's Homecoming. The win marked the ninth for the Golden Eagles over the Red Dragons in the last 13 meetings. more

Byron-Bergen alumni soccer game scheduled
On Saturday, September 29, all former soccer players from Byron-Bergen are invited to join the annual alumni game. Sponsored by the Byron-Bergen Sports Boosters, all proceeds will benefit current school athletes. more

Cadets beat Rangers on Gridiron 42-14
Hilton Senior running back Bret Clark scored four touchdowns and rushed for 102 yards on 18 carries all in the first half as Hilton opened up a 35-6 halftime lead and went on to win their first game of the season 42-14. Clark has rushed for over 100 yards in each of Hilton's first three games. more

C-C Saints sweep in volleyball
Churchville-Chili overcame a six point deficit in the first game and then never trailed as they swept Brockport 26-24, 25-16, 25-18 in boys volleyball. more

Coco, Cholewa score for Rangers
Senior Dominic Coco scored in the first half and Nick Cholewa netted what proved to be the game-winner in the second half as Spencerport defeated Penfield 2-1 in boys soccer. more

Soccer Challenge in Hilton
Hilton-Parma Recreation partnered with the St. Leo’s Knights of Columbus Council #9461 to offer a “Soccer Challenge” for the youth of the Hilton community. more
