Holley Rotary Christmas Project
Each year the Holley Rotary Club adopts local families as part of the club's community service. The families receive gifts for the children and $75 gift certificates to purchase food for the holiday. more

New children's program at Ogden Library
The Ogden Farmers' Library is introducing a new program for children up to age 10, called the Birthday Club. To enroll, fill out a short registration form at the library. more

Some new faces on local government boards following 2005 elections
In the Village of Holley's March 15 election, Thomas O'Neill received 177 votes in his bid for a two year term on the village board. This was O'Neill's second bid for public office in as many years. He defeated incumbent Ronald Vendetti with votes of 177 to 120, respectively. more

Band donates toys
The Holley Elementary Band ensemble performed at the Holley Community Library and received a $25 donation which they gave to the Holley Toy Shelf. more

Christmas Around the World Celebration
Kindergarteners in Jaime Perticone's class at Brockport's Ginther Elementary School learned how Christmas is celebrated around the world by participating in some fun, hands-on activities. Six stations each held a different activity. more

GCC hosts open house
Genesee Community College has scheduled an Open House on January 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at all six campus locations. January 10 is also the early registration deadline. more

Holley student creates mitten tree
Holley fifth grader Bethany Annal discovered the idea for a mitten tree while reading a magazine. She asked her teacher, Sheri Viscardi, and Principal Brenda Freida if she could create a mitten tree project at school for needy children. more

Holley teacher nominated for Disney teacher award
Holley third grade teacher Lisa Hendry is being recognized for her creativity and success in the classroom as a Disney Teacher Award Nominee. As the next step in the awards process, Hendry is submitting an application to be considered for the award. more

Turning stories into song
Holley third graders worked with Doug Waterman, songwriter and performer, to turn a familiar story into song. more

Food Cupboard - Non perishable food and canned goods are welcome and appreciated at the Chili Senior Center. Food will be distributed to the food cupboards and pantries in the Rochester area. Please be aware of expiration dates on food items. more

Blue Devils fall to Webster
Nate Parrino finished first in the 100-yard freestyle and was part of the winning 400-yard freestyle relay team as Brockport fell to visiting Webster 102-77 in varsity boy's swimming. more

Rangers advance in "Chow" Tourney
Andrea Kazmierski sunk five three-pointers and Kacey Pratt scored six of her 17 points in the final quarter to lead Spencerport to a 50-30 win over Brockport in the first round of the 15th annual "Coach Chow" Girls' Basketball Classic held at Spencerport High School. more

Saints win on late Vail 3-pointer
Trailing by a point with less than two minutes remaining, senior guard Ashley Vail knocked down a three-point shot to lead Churchville-Chili to a tight 42-39 victory over Hilton in girl's basketball. more
