New ladder truck added to Hilton's fleet
The Hilton Parma Fire District has recently replaced the 1974 ladder truck with an American LaFrance 110 foot ladder truck designed to meet the needs of structures in their area. This quint ladder truck has a body made of stainless steel and holds 500 gallons of water. more

New York businesses asked to participate

Public meetings set on transportation plan
The Genesee Transportation Council (GTC), the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the nine-county Genesee-Finger Lakes Region, will be holding six Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) public meetings during the weeks of November 10 and 17. more

Santa's Train returns for Brockport visit
Santa's Train will be rolling in along side Park Avenue Station again this holiday season. Building on the success of last year's Niagara and Western New York Railroad excursions, this year's train will be operated by the Medina Railroad Museum. "We're really looking forward to bringing our train to Brockport. Last year was a very successful run, this year will be even better," said Linda Klein of the museum. more

Trimmer Road Erie Canal bridge closes for winter November 6
The New York State Department of Transportation is undertaking a project to improve the condition of the Trimmer Road Bridge over the Erie Canal in the town of Ogden, Monroe County. It will be necessary to close the bridge to all traffic on or about November 6. more

Trolley station restoration project
The project to restore the Buffalo, Lockport and Rochester (BLR) Trolley Station in Spencerport and move it to its original location next to the hydroelectric station in the village has begun. Workers are at the site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays - and more workers would definitely be welcome, according to Bernie Cubitt, chairman of the project. more

World explorer to speak at diabetes community forum
The American Diabetes Association and Excellus Blue Cross/Blue Shield are offering a free Diabetes Forum on Thursday, November 6, aimed at educating the community on how to manage diabetes and maintain an active lifestyle. The program, which is open to the public, will be held at the Radisson Inn on Jefferson Road in Henrietta from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. more

It is geared to area residents who have completed high school and are interested in beginning college during the spring or summer of 2004. more

Hilton Class of 1953 holds reunion
Hilton Central School - Class of 1953 held their 50th class reunion at the Arlington Restaurant in Hilton on September 27 with 28 graduates attending. Seven class members are deceased and seven did not attend. more

Hilton opened the 2003 Section V Girls soccer tournament with their third match of the year against the Penfield Patriots on Tuesday, October 21 at Hilton. The teams had split road victories during the regular season. more

Johnson, Gaesser lead Eagles to final
Kendall's Section Five Class CC semi-final game with Honeoye didn't start out as planned, but it ended well as the Eagles earned the right to defend their 2002 Sectional Championship with a 2-1 win in a girl's soccer game played at Spencerport's Soccer Stadium.

Penfield drops Cadets
Hilton's storybook football season came to an end at the hands of Penfield 10-7 in the Class AAA semi-final played at St. John Fisher. Despite returning only three starters this season, the Cadets advanced beyond what many had predicted back in August. more
