Snowmobile safety certification courses offered in December
The New York State Park Police will be holding two snowmobile safety certification courses for youth in the month of December. The course is targeted for young persons ages 10 to 18. All youth, ages 10 to 18, must have a snowmobile safety certificate to operate a snowmobile alone anywhere other than on family owned or leased land. Youth who complete the training and pass the exam will receive their certification. more
Spencerport's UCC Church hires new pastor
After a one year endeavor, the nine member Search Committee of the Spencerport U.C.C. Church (The White Church) has located a new pastor to lead the congregation. On Sunday, October 20 Rev. John Dennis Vertigan was chosen, via a unanimous vote, according to the church's by-laws by the congregation to serve as the church's next pastor. more

St. Leo Catholic Church, Hilton, offers child safety program
A Child Safety Program for parents and children will be held at St. Leo Church, Hilton, on Saturday, November 23 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Parish Center. Parents and their children will be involved in breakout sessions that will be age appropriate for children. And the parents will also have their own session with the facilitators. more

Bergen residents invited to participate in holiday contest
The Bergen Triangle Club will sponsor a Holiday Home Decorating Contest this year in the Village of Bergen. The judging will be done December 5. Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated homes. The prizes will be given out at the Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 6. Residents are urged to participate. more

Community center declares Halloween party a huge success
The Sweden/Clarkson Community Center held its first Halloween Fun Night on October 30. An estimated 600 people attended. Sponsored by Brockport Wegmans, some of the events included the haunted toddler gym (a huge hit), fake tattoos, about a dozen carnival games, an inflatable spacewalk, along with entertainment provided by the Dinner Dogs. more
