At its February 26 meeting, the Board of Education of Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES will review the agency's shared decision making plan. The Commissioner's Regulations require the biennial review of the plan, which prescribes the participation of parents and teachers in school-based planning and shared decision making. more
Brockport kindergarten information night scheduled
The Ginther School Parent Teacher Association is co-sponsoring an information night for parents of children who will be starting kindergarten in September 2002. The meeting, on Wednesday, March 6 from 6:45 to 8:30 p.m., will be held in Ginther School cafeteria. Information will be provided on screening, registration, support services, a typical kindergarten day, and easing the adjustment to school. more
Brockport transportation director achieves national status
Joseph L. LaMarca, transportation director at Brockport Central Schools, received certification as a Director of Pupil Transportation by the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT). LaMarca is only the 63rd person in the United States to achieve this recognition. more

Hill fourth-graders go back in time to create 2002 calendar
Fourth-graders at Fred W. Hill School in Brockport are not only learning about local history, but helping the community learn as well. The classes of Eileen Jungbluth, Mary Quinn and Mary Wanzer have been researching Brockport's history since September and have created a calendar for 2002 that features many of the photographs, drawings and historical facts they've gathered. more
